Maisie Short, CAIA, CFP® is a Managing Director at Manulife Investment Management where she leads west coast consultant relations. She is a member of the firm’s Women in Private Markets Working Group and is actively engaged across functional areas of the business including marketing, product development, and DEI. Prior to joining Manulife, Maisie was a Managing Director with Los Angeles Capital where she cultivated and managed relationships with investment consultants, plan sponsors, and financial institutions on a national basis and in Canada. Maisie was a member of the Firm’s Responsible Investing Solutions Group and chaired the Diversity & Inclusion Working Group. Prior to joining Los Angeles Capital, Ms. Short held client service and marketing roles with Wilshire, 300 North Capital, and Convergent Wealth Advisors (now Pathstone). Ms. Short began her career in non-profit fundraising with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Maisie holds a BA from Duke University, an MA from the Johns Hopkins University, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (TM) and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst. Maisie also received a Certificate from Cornell University in Diversity & Inclusion. She is one of the co-founders and is the Immediate Past President of Women in Institutional Investments Network, a Southern California based non-profit dedicated to empowering women in the institutional investment community. She is also an Advisory Board Member for CareerSpring, a national non-profit focused on unlocking the career potential of first-generation, low-income college graduates through providing career information, social capital, and job placement services. Maisie lives in Los Angeles and in her free time enjoys planning vacations, tennis, yoga, audiobooks, and chasing her two young kids and dog.
